An Elf Warrior can pick from two Secondary Classes at Level 31 in Lineage 2 Revolution – the Temple Knight (tank) or the Swordsinger (DPS). This guide focuses on playing an Elf Temple Knight. The Elf Temple Knight wields a Sword and Shield. The following guide discusses the skill sets and the optimal skill build an Elf Temple Knight should follow.

Active Skills

Tribunal

Elf Temple Knight Guide - Tribunal

A broad swing to deal damage, knockdown enemies, and provoke them to attack you. Affected enemies experience 2 seconds of knock down. A vital skill in party play, where you would need to take the aggro of mobs off your DPS classes that lack defenses.

Eva’s Grace

Elf Temple Knight Guide - Eva's Grace

Creates a holy area on the ground that deals damage over time to enemies within the area and decreases their HP regen. This skill lowers HP regeneration rate by 50%, allowing you to kill affected enemies faster. This skill provides great utility in a War against another clan that has a Healer.

Aegis Stance

Elf Temple Knight Guide - Aegis Stance

Becomes invulnerable to damage for a short period of time and increases movement Speed. This allows you to be immune to damage for a duration of 5 seconds. Thgis is a very important skill, given how an Elf Temple Knight lacks in Health and Defense due to the Elf’s stats distribution versus other races. The Aegis Stance buff provides great synergy when used with Tribunal (which taunts enemies to attack you). This allows you to take aggro off your party members without taking damage.

Passive Skill

Elven Dodge

While attacking, you gain a 15% chance increase in Evasion. This skill further helps the Temple Knight to tank and survive despite her relatively weak survivability.

Parry Mastery

Increases shield defense rate, shield defense and defense power. This is an cornerstone skill for the Temple Knight due to her lacking in the defense and health department. You gain a slight chance to reduce damage taken and and an increase of your low base defense.

Ultimate Hate

Increases damages dealt to enemies, reduces damage taken and gains a chance to provoke enemies while attacking. An elf comes built with high attack rating. This passive further bolsters your damage output, expediting the leveling process. The damage mitigation of this passive will improve your ability to tank damage. The chance of provoking enemies also aids you in being a more effective tank in party content.

Defense Aura

Increases defense of you and your party members when located in the same area. The increment in defense rating bolsters you and your party’s survivability in group content.

Skill Build Recommendations and Guide

It is highly recommended to level your Passive skills first before your Active skills. Be sure to continue leveling your Warrior Weapon Mastery, and the Heavy Armor Mastery too. Invest 1 Level into Elven Dodge, Parry Mastery and Ultimate Hate as they grant a decent boost at Level 1. However, these skills provide only marginal gains beyond Level 1. The Optimal sequence would be to prioritise Warrior Weapon Mastery and Heavy Armor Mastery, followed by Parry Mastery and Ultimate Hate, and lastly Elven Dodge.

For Active Skills, you would want to take a Level 1 in each of your active skills, before proceeding to level up the Aegis Stance skill as the immunity it grants is very strong.

How Good is Elf Temple Knight in Lineage 2 Revolution?

Despite the Elf racial lacking in defenses and health, the Elf Temple Knight’s skill set makes up for that. She excels in party play with a ranged damage dealer like a Wizard or an Archer, as she can take the aggro away from enemy mobs. This enables the range damage dealers to maximize damage output, without much care for surviving.

The Elf Temple Knight is also a great choice in the Arena, due to her Aegis Stance that grants her damage immunity. In the first few seconds of the Arena, the enemy AI tends to deploy all the skills in quick succession. By toggling on Aegis Stance, you will be able to negate the bulk of the initiate burst damage, allowing you to win the fight with greater ease.

For solo content in Lineage 2 Revolution, you might find that the Elf Temple Knight running into survival issues when facing up against stronger bosses, although this weakness is compensated by her ability to dish out considerable damage. This raises the importance of well-timed use of her damage mitigation skills – do your best to avoid auto battle for certain storyline bosses.
