In Lineage 2 Revolution, a Dark Elf Rogue unlocks two Secondary Class specializations upon reaching Level 31. After completing the Class Change quests, a Dark Elf Rogue could either choose to be a Abyss Walker (dagger-wielding) or Phantom Ranger (bow-wielding). This guide will focus on playing as a Dark Elf Phanton Ranger in Lineage 2 Revolution. We will be discussing the skillsets, as well as the optimal skill build that you should take. The Dark Elf Phantom Ranger is amongst the highest DPS classes in the game. The class is fairly fragile in nature, though it is compensated by immense DPS potential that is almost unrivaled in Lineage 2 Revolution. He is the epitome of a glass cannon.
Active Skills
Death Sting
Fires an arrow that penetrates enemies and deals powerful damage. A strong training skill that is capable of dealing massive damage to multiple targets at once, especially if they are lined up. Grants respectable burst damage output.
Stun Shot
Deals damage and briefly stuns enemies. This is a strong ability that comes with crowd control function. It inflicts a 3 seconds stun on nearby enemies. Useful for both PvP, as well as for PVE.
Rapid Fire
A state that increases Atk. Spd. while decreasing attack range. At Level 1, you gain a massive boost of 40% increased attack speed at the cost of losing attack range. The buff duration lasts for 15 seconds.
Fatal Counter
Gives up on evasion and focuses on offense, increasing Atk greatly while in this state. This ability grants you a high P. Atk stat boost, at the cost of losing 30% of your Evasion. This is a huge damage output cooldown. However, be wary that you will probably sustain great incoming damage as well, should you be targeted by an enemy.
Passive Skill
Critical Sign
Gains a chance to increase accuracy while attacking. This passive grants 10% chance of activation the buff, synergizing well with Rapid Fire (increases 40% atk spd) for a high chance of triggering the buff. This is not a critical skill to have, though it does provide a fair amount of utility.
Guidance
This grants you and your party members in the area an accuracy buff. This is another ability that is probably optional.
Skill Build Recommendations and Guide
Ensure you obtain 1 Level of each skill first, as the first point always grants a massive bang for buck. After which you should be prioritizing the following Passive skills over Active skills.
Continue to level up Rogue Weapon Mastery as this provide a consistent boost in attack stats per level. Subsequently, you can invest into Light Armor Mastery to bolster your survivability. This negates the evasion that you lose through using Fatal Counter, which provides great increment to attack speed at the expense of lowered evasion.
With regards to Active Skills, make sure you level up Fatal Encounter and Rapid Fire as these two abilities grant additional damage output with respect to your basic attacks. We suggest that you level up both in tandem, advancing both skills evenly in levels.
How Good is Dark Elf Phantom Ranger in Lineage 2 Revolution?
The Dark Elf Phantom Ranger has a very strong damage output in Lineage 2 Revolution. By sacrificing his own survivability (through lowered evasion), he is able to push out huge amounts of damage. Although he does not bring any useful buffs to a party, he is still a very strong asset for group content. A party with a competent tank will be able to keep aggro off the Dark Elf Phantom Ranger, allowing him to dish out top-tier damage on targets.
In Solo Content, the Dark Elf Phantom Ranger will be able to defeat bosses with ease due to his high damage output. In arena, he is more than capable of beating most opponents due to his high burst damage potential. Be sure to trigger your Fatal Encounter buff when the enemy uses all his skills right at the start, in order to survive the initial burst of damage.
